We review Evans’ contributions to the spectral theory of operators describing relativistic particle systems. We will concentrate on no-pair operators and recent extensions of that work. 1. The light baryon spectrum in a relativistic quark model with instanton-induced quark forces
This is the third of a series of papers treating light baryon resonances up to 3 GeV within a relativistically covariant quark model based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with instantaneous twoand three-body forces. In this last paper we extend our previous work [2] on non-strange baryons to a prediction of the complete strange baryon spectrum and a detailed comparison with experiment. We apply ...
متن کاملRecoil correction to the ground state energy of hydrogenlike atoms
The recoil correction to the ground state energy of hydrogenlike atoms is calculated to all orders in αZ in the range Z = 1–110. The nuclear size corrections to the recoil effect are partially taken into account. In the case of hydrogen, the relativistic recoil correction beyond the Salpeter contribution and the nonrelativistic nuclear size correction to the recoil effect, amounts to –7.2(2) kH...
متن کاملTHE SPINLESS SALPETER EQUATION AND MESON DYNAMICS
Applying the variational method, the spinless reduced Bethe-Salpeter (RBS) equation is solved for the mesonic systems, and the mass spectra are obtained. The method is applied to the Hamiltonian with the Gaussian and hydrogen-type trial wave functions, and different potential models are examined. The results for the different potentials are in challenge in light mesons, while they are consisten...
متن کاملQuark-antiquark Bethe-salpeter Formalism, Spectrum and Regge Trajectories
Starting from a path integral representation of appropriate 4-point and 2-point gauge invariant Green functions and from the ”Modified Area Law” model , a qq̄ Bethe-Salpeter like equation and a related Schwinger-Dyson equation can be obtained. From such equations an effective relativistic Hamiltonian can be derived by standard methods and then applied to the determination of the meson spectrum ....

We consider Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation for the bound state of two point particles in the non-commutative space-time. We subsequently explore the BS equation for spin0-spin0, spin1/2-spin1/2 and spin0-spin1/2 bound states. we show that the lowest order spin independent correction to energy spectrum in each case is of the order θ a 4 while the spin dependent one in NC space, is started at the ...
